NFL Power Rankings: Broncos looking better and better

Posted Oct 1, 2013

Jaguars.com Senior Writer John Oehser ranks the 32 NFL teams before Week 5.

JACKSONVILLE – Here are the jaguars.com pre-Week 5 2013 power rankings. And we all know how important these are:

1. Denver Broncos (4-0) | 1 | Manning still as good as ever – maybe better

2. Seattle Seahawks (4-0) | 2 | Showed serious guts to win that game in Houston

3. New England Patriots (4-0) | 3 | And people thought they weren’t too good... why?

4. New Orleans Saints (4-0) | 4 | Not back to where they were two years ago, but better

6. Kansas City Chiefs (4-0) | 7 | Looking more and more unflukier every week

7. Indianapolis Colts (3-1) | 8 | Made it look easy on Sunday in Jacksonville

8. Miami Dolphins (3-1) | 6 | Monday’s result doesn’t ruin a solid first quarter

8. Detroit Lions (3-1) | 17 | Reggie Bush may be best free agent signing of offseason

9. Chicago Bears (3-1) | 5 | Road loss at Detroit doesn’t drop them far

10. Houston Texans (2-2) | 10 | Crushing loss to Seattle at home won’t crush them

11. San Francisco 49ers (2-2) | 13 | Still some problems, but will be there all year

12. Tennessee Titans (3-1) | 16 | Will keep rising in this poll until they lose

13. San Diego Chargers (2-2) | 19 | Up again and down again

14. Green Bay Packers (1-2) | 14 | Stayed where they were over the bye week

15. Buffalo Bills (2-2) | 21 | Very close to looking very, very good

16. Baltimore Ravens (2-2) | 9 | Still looking like a team that will contend all season

17. Dallas Cowboys (2-2) | 12 | They’re up again and down again – yet again

18. Atlanta Falcons (1-3) | 15 | Way too early to count these guys out

19. Cincinnati Bengals (2-2) | 11 | Weird early-season loss to Browns Sunday

20. Cleveland Browns (2-2) | 26 | So much for their season being over after Richardson trade

21. New York Jets (2-2) | 20 | .500 is still much better than many expected

22. Philadelphia Eagles (1-3) | 18 | This offense needs to get going sometime soon

23. Arizona Cardinals (2-2) | 22 | Stabilizing early after a disastrous finish last season

24. Carolina Panthers (1-2) | 23 | Stayed where they were at the bye, but potential to move up

25. Washington Redskins (1-3) | 27 | Signs of life at last in Oakland Sunday

26. Oakland Raiders (1-3) | 25 | Playing better in first month than anyone expected

27. Minnesota Vikings (1-3) | 29 | Trip to England exactly what Vikes needed

28. St. Louis Rams (1-3) | 24 | Up next: Rams versus Jaguars

29. New York Giants (0-4) | 28 | Turnovers continue to really, really hurt

30. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-4) | 30 | The shine long since has gone off for Bucs
