NFL Power Rankings: Despite loss, Seattle still No. 1

Posted Dec 10, 2013

Jaguars.com Senior Writer John Oehser ranks the 32 NFL teams before Week 15.

JACKSONVILLE – Here are the jaguars.com pre-Week 15 2013 power rankings. And we all know how important these are:

1.Seattle Seahawks (11-2) | 1 | Team to beat as long as they have homefield

2.Denver Broncos (11-2) | 2 | Inching toward No. 1 seed, but not there yet

3.New England Patriots (10-3) | 3 | Rallying again and again – and keeping pressure on Broncos

4.New Orleans Saints (10-3) | 4 | A different team away from Seattle, but who isn’t?

5.Kansas City Chiefs (10-3) | 6 | Losing streak snapped, but can they win in Denver or NE?

6.Cincinnati Bengals (9-4) | 7 | Best team in the NFL no one thinks about

7.San Francisco 49ers (9-4) | 8 | Hard to see them winning in Seattle in January

8.Carolina Panthers (9-4) | 5 | Overwhelmed in New Orleans, but still a threat in playoffs

9.Philadelphia Eagles (8-5) | 10 | A lot of hot teams in NFC; they’re one of them

10.Indianapolis Colts (9-4) | 9 | Staggering toward the postseason, but they’re in

11.Detroit Lions (7-6) | 11 | Don’t want to see snow again – or Eagles – any time soon

12.Arizona Cardinals (8-5) |13 | Better than most realize, but how do they get in?

13.Chicago Bears (7-6) | 14 | Sweep at hands of Detroit will be hard to overcome

14.Dallas Cowboys (7-6) | 12 | Regular-season finale versus Eagles looms large

15.Baltimore Ravens (7-6) | 15 | Miracle finish Sunday may have saved season

16.Green Bay Packers (6-6-1) | 16 | Still a long way to go, but back in it

17.Miami Dolphins (7-6) | 17 | Stayed together when cracking would have been easy

18.San Diego Chargers (6-7) | 20 | With Rivers, this team always has a chance

19.Pittsburgh Steelers (5-8) | 18 | All but out of it

20.New York Giants (5-8) | 19 | Season finally ran out of gas

21.New York Jets (6-7) | 26 | Believe it or not, they’re still really, really in it

22.St. Louis Rams (5-8) | 21 | Officially eliminated from playoffs

26.Tennessee Titans (5-8) | 22 | Changes could be coming unless Titans make playoffs

25.Cleveland Browns (4-9) | 23| Is Josh Gordon in the Hall of Fame yet?

26.Oakland Raiders (4-9) | 24 | Made the Jets look really good really quickly

27.Buffalo Bills (4-9) | 25 | Three-touchdown loss out of character for a team that fought all year

27.Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-9) | 27 | Bucs and Jags two of hottest teams in NFL

28.Jacksonville Jaguars (4-9) | 30 | Movin’ on up

29.Minnesota Vikings (3-9-1) | 28 | AP’s injury one more rough day in rough season for Vikes

30.Atlanta Falcons (3-10) | 29 | Still baffling … just baffling

31.Washington Redskins (3-10) | 31 | This couldn’t be more of a mess

32.Houston Texans (2-11) | 32 | Kubiak first head coach fired; won’t be last
