The Jaguars rewarded 307 students at Andrew Jackson High School who earned their seat to the Jaguars home game against the Chicago Bears after taking the Jaguars Foundation’s Honor Rows challenge. These students met the goals of reporting to school and all classes on time, with no unexcused absences or tardies for the first month of school. They also took the pledge to not use alcohol, tobacco products and illegal drugs. Additionally the students met significant progress towards meeting their reading objectives that are designed to increase student college readiness.
Andrew Jackson High School Principal Iranetta Wright said, “The students were excited to have the opportunity to cheer on their home team during the game. Our students recognize the value of perseverance and appreciate the Jaguars for being ‘All IN’ on their academic achievement.”
The students that successfully completed the Honor Rows challenge received transportation to the game, a commemorative Andrew Jackson Honor Rows t-shirt, hat and lunch. These students will also be eligible to apply for a college scholarship to either the University of North Florida or Florida State College at Jacksonville through the Jaguars Foundation.
This program was implemented as a part of the Jacksonville Jaguars partnership with Andrew Jackson High School to restore the school to its tradition of excellence. Jaguars players, coaches, cheerleaders and staff will be participating in various events at the school throughout the year.
