Call for Volunteers: Books to Kids!

Posted Apr 17, 2013

The Jacksonvile Jaguars Foundation brought together a group of partners to team up with First Book to distribute 120,000 new books to programs serving children.

The Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation and the partners listed above have teamed up with First Book to distribute 120,000 new books to programs serving children from low-income families in the greater Jacksonville community.  First Book is a national non-profit organization that provides new books to children in need addressing one of the most important factors affecting literacy, access to books.  An innovative leader in social enterprise, First Book has distributed more than 100 million free and low-cost books in thousands of communities.

Over 33,000 children in the greater Jacksonville area will each receive age appropriate books. The books will be distributed to Title I schools, childcare centers and community agencies. The reading level of the books will range from infant/toddler to high school.
