Jaguars make roster moves

Posted Dec 18, 2012

The Jaguars today promoted rookie WR Mike Brown, rookie LB Brandon Marshall and fourth-year TE Isaiah Stanback from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

The Jacksonville Jaguars today promoted rookie wide receiver Mike Brown, rookie linebacker Brandon Marshall and fourth-year tight end Isaiah Stanback from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.  2012 second-round pick Andre Branch (groin) and first-year running back Jordan Todman (calf) were placed on injured reserve.  Wide receiver Quan Cosby and fullback Will Ta’ufo’ou were waived from the roster. The Jaguars’ roster stands at 52 players.

Rookie offensive lineman Tommie Draheim and rookie wide receiver Brittan Golden were signed to the practice squad.  The players will wear the following jersey numbers: Brown (12), Marshall (53), Stanback (86), Draheim (61) and Golden (83).

Brown has spent the entire season on the Jaguars’ practice squad after joining the club as a rookie free agent.  The former collegiate quarterback was a two-time Walter Payton Award candidate and Big South Offensive Player of the Year at Liberty.  Marshall, a fifth-round draft pick in 2012, opened the season on the 53-man roster and played in four games.  Stanback, who has played in 16 career games, was signed to the Jaguars’ practice squad on Dec. 5.  He has also spent time with Dallas, New England, Seattle and the New York Giants.

Draheim, 6-4, 309, spent the preseason with Green Bay after signing as a rookie free agent.  He also spent time on  Seattle’s and New England’s practice squads.  The Kennewick, Washington native was a three-year letterman at San Diego State where he played in 35 games with 33 starts. He began his career as a center before switching to tackle as a sophomore.  He started all 13 games at left tackle as a senior.

Golden, 5-11, 186, played four seasons at West Texas A&M where he ranked second in school history in receiving yards (3,007) and fifth in receptions (165) and scored 33 touchdowns.  He also saw action as a return specialist.  He played wide receiver at defensive back at Denver City High School in Texas.
