In an announcement late Monday, Jaguars linebacker
"I'm glad we have the opportunity to go, and I'm glad the Jaguars can say we have a player there for our defense and our organization," Posluszny said via phone Monday evening.
For a veteran of seven NFL seasons, his first Pro Bowl nod is an honor and will be a new experience.
"I'll try to learn as much as I can," Posluszny said. "It will be fun to be around some of those elite guys that you look up to because they are the best players in the league."
Posluszny finished the 2013 season with a team-best 161 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions. He intercepted Peyton Manning and returned it 59 yards for his first career touchdown in the Week Six loss at the Denver Broncos.
Posluszny is the 37th Pro Bowl player in franchise history, and the first Jaguars player honored since RB
He is the first Jaguars defensive player selected for a Pro Bowl since DT John Henderson and CB Rashean Mathis in 2006.
The 2014 Pro Bowl will be played Sunday, January 26 at Aloha Stadium on Honolulu, Hi.
