The Jacksonville Jaguars signed rookie defensive back Deion Belue and waived rookie running back Beau Blankenship, the club announced today.

Belue, 5-11, 182, played two seasons at Alabama after beginning his career at Northeast Mississippi Community College. He started his final two seasons with the Crimson Tide and totaled three interceptions, 13 passes defensed and 7.5 tackles for loss.  He totaled 40 tackles and returned a fumble 57 yards for a touchdown as a junior in 2012 for the national champions.

A native of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Belue was second-team NJCAA All-America in 2011 at Northeast Mississippi Community College.  He totaled 24 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and one interception.

Belue attended Deshler High School where he was rated as the No. 7 player in the state by the Tuscaloosa News.  He was a two-time Alabama Sports Writers Association 4A All-State selection.  He had four interceptions and three returns (two punts, one kickoff) for touchdowns.

Belue will wear jersey number 43.
