Brian Sexton is moving into a new role with the Jaguars as Senior Correspondent. In this position he joins the digital media group to serve as a reporter, writer, developer and editor of content for jaguars.com and the Jaguars’ social media platforms. Sexton has served as the team’s radio play-by-play voice since its inaugural season, and has also hosted most of the team’s radio and TV shows during that time.
“I’m thrilled about returning to the Jaguars and am excited for this new opportunity,” Sexton said. This is a career change for me and I welcome the challenge of helping to grow the Jaguars’ fan base through digital and social efforts. They’ve got a great group in place and together we want to help create more Jaguars fans around the world and engage with them more deeply with even more great content.”
Sexton will leave the Jaguars radio booth, from where he has called all 392 games in franchise history including preseason, regular season and postseason. Joining analysts Jeff Lageman and Tony Boselli in the booth this season to call Jaguars play-by-play will be Frank Frangie.
Frangie has been and will continue to be an on-air talk show host at 1010 XL Radio, the Jaguars’ new flagship radio station. He has called a full schedule of college football games for the past seven seasons for Touchdown Radio. Frangie is in his 26th consecutive year as a talk show host in Jacksonville, almost all of them in afternoon drive time. Frangie is a Jacksonville native and a 1980 graduate of the University of Florida.

To be part of the team, and to be entrusted to help tell its story on a week-to-week basis, is an honor beyond belief. I can’t wait to begin.”
Rick Ballou will serve as field reporter for the Jaguars’ game broadcasts. Ballou has been paired with Frangie for their afternoon talk show for the past five and-a-half years on 1010 XL. Ballou is a Florida State graduate and has been in sports radio for 20 years, including seven at Sporting News Radio in Chicago. He also previously worked for PGA Tour Communications.
“We’re excited to have Brian in this new role to help us grow our fan base,” Jaguars President Mark Lamping said, “and we’re equally excited to have Frank and Rick join the broadcast team. Brian did a great job for 19 seasons in the radio booth, and that experience and knowledge will transfer very naturally into his new position. We’re eager to develop and utilize the best ways to reach fans and to engage our followers in the social media space, and these moves will help in our efforts to do that.”
In his new role Sexton will work alongside Jaguars Digital Media Reporter/Editor J.P. Shadrick in generating content – including video, audio and written – that will appear on jaguars.com and the team’s mobile app and social platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Google , in addition to NFL Now. The two will work closely as part of the team’s digital media group in covering Jaguars news and developments on a daily basis.
With the introduction of NFL Now, the National Football League will be offering more video content from all 32 teams than ever before. The Jaguars digital group is charged with creating and providing video content for this new video-sharing property.
